'Tis almost TV series season again, with the autumn equinox already behind us, and the log stack behind the house almost groaning under its own weight. Has anyone watched Netflix's The Last Kingdom? I'm not a fan of historical dramas, either in book form, or on screen, but I believe The Saxon Chronicles, the books on which the series is based, are well researched. Anyone rate it?

Shame I don’t have Netflix as I’ve read the books by Cornwall and they are good.

Clint Eastwood was not just big box office, back in the day; he was the box office.
Faded from the scene these days, no doubt due to sheer longevity, and not probably ticking enough, or any, of the boxes required by big media to pander to the identitarian, progressive/totalitarian influencers, it's nice to see Channel 5 again bucking the trend and devoting a whole day to The Man with No Name...

I dunno about you lot but I have had several streaming platforms and if you take Netflix for example, there is not a lot of quality in there. I might be a bit old fashioned but I really think they made better films back in the day and there is not a lot of that available today if you don´t buy or rent from Apple TV for instance. Actors were better and less PC BS to worry about.
