"Wenger also said there were "not enough VAR specialists and that will improve very quickly".
He added "former referees have to be involved" and "experienced players" could also be used."

Pretty much as I see it. VAR as a technology is fantastic. It's development and adaptation needs to improve.

VAR today at griffin park and wed have had 3 points and that blonde frcker would have had a yellow!
Anybody still willing to argue against it?

No - definite penalty for Rovers . You can’t dive all over an attacker in the penalty area when the ball is nowhere near . Raya’s mistake .

Brentford penalty was a joke and their forward a blatant cheat

VAR replaced by a fool with a whistle at Griffin park.

We'd be on 15 points here with VAR. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/blackburn-rovers/form-guide
Goal disallowed for Offside v Fulham and todays dive have cost us 3 points in the last few matches. Worse still PNE's equaliser was an even bigger dive! These bad decisions will add up in May.

No one complains about the technology on the goal line do they? VAR is much more complex but I'm confident time will bear me out. They will get it accurate and much more reliable than a linesman and a referee who today were duped by a cheat.

I can’t say I’m convinced by VAR either way . I think Rovers were robbed today and VAR would have shown the Brentford penalty was a blatant dive .

A couple of controversial decisions by the video referee in the Wales v France rugby . A deliberate knock on by the French player . Arguably should have been a penalty try and yellow card , but just given as a penalty . Probably cost the Welsh the game . Perhaps the technology is only foolproof in cricket !

But how many so called VAR decisions world have cost us points!
Does anyone know?
As ODB says, you might as well go back to calling the referee a w*nker, cos these VAR idiots have no idea.
Saying they will eventually get it right is the equivalent of saying it isn't ready yet.

Even I have to say that VAR treated poor Bournemouth very harshly today at Burnley! Two definite 'shoulders' judged to be handball NOT by VAR but by whoever is sat in front of the screen, cost Bournemouth two goals. Closet dingle perhaps?
Isn't life shit when you are at the bottom?

VAR worked perfectly at the Emirates today and typically the losing Manager (Moyes) whinged and said there is no need for it. To quote Mandy Rice Davies "well he would say that wouldn't he"?

Watching United v city.
Fred just booked for diving in the box when he was obviously tripped.
Fred given a yellow card and VAR not even interested.
What a crap system.
BTW I have no reason to support United in this match but there is no consistency at all.

Systems fine, otherwise how could you say whereabouts Aguero was with such certainty?🤔
The camera never lies but the people using it need to improve. If anyone wants to find blame for City's defeat they might want to ask Ederson. He had an even worse match than the VAR operative.

VAR isn't the cameras, VAR is the video assistant referee.
The cameras have been around for years and help us to see how crap the VAR is.
So, you, I and most other folk can see where Aguero was by looking at camera footage - nothing to do with VAR.
The VAR, for some reason, can't see it, couldn't see Fred was tripped in the box (or wasn't interested) and is generally unfit for purpose.

They have brought in VAR without adequate testing and training and I bet they are regretting it as they seem to have alienated everyone - managers, players and fans.

So you don't believe a referee and 3 assistants can never make a mistake and if when they realise it they cannot correct it?

We have the technology it would be idiocy to shelve it. Perhaps VAR has been brought in too soon, with unclear guidelines and with poorly trained staff. Doesn't matter though because unless we want to become dinosaurs we have to move with the times. Did you have objections to the use of subs when they were brought in? How about the move to 3 subs? I recall the introduction of Yellow and red cards too had critics. Should we still be playing with a leather 'casey'?
Not all changes have been for the better imo because speaking personally and although it was frustrating I preferred the OLD offside rule where any player could be given offside in an attack when the ball was last played. That made decisions so much easier for the linesmen and clearer for the spectator.
Might it help WB if the policy was to give the benefit of any doubt to the defending side as was the old rule with unclear throw ins. btw could just as easily be for the attacking side.
