Dunno. Don't shoot the messenger.

btw BB can I quote your words from just yesterday (above)........ "Brewers should learn from the German Pure Beer legislation that means no he I als are added. Y the way the same laws apply in the Isle of Man where both brewers (Busheys* and Okels) brew a smashing pint."

I think we need that masterbrewer WB to inform us all of the (minute) differences between a lager and a beer.

Lager is brewed with different malted grains and hops (but that is true of many differing beer styles).
One main thing about lager is that the yeast strain that is used ferments at a much lower temperature than ale yeasts.
This is due to lager originally having been brewed in an area predominated by caves, where traditional yeasts wouldn't perform.
Usually beer ferments at between 18 to 22 degrees celsius but lager ferments at closer to 10 degrees and for longer and with more yeast.

Whenever I brew it I have to ferment it in a converted chest freezer with a temperature controller on.

Peroni being 5.1 abv. Some bang average mild about 3.3 abv. Somehow I don't see Peroni as the girly option BB. :D

I drank Leffe one golfing holiday in Le Touquet and I have to say I wasn't impressed ODB. It left an aftertaste. However Peroni is currently cheap at Majestic and if you like strong lager with a good taste then go and buy a couple of cans of each lager that they sell in 'Krakpow' Polish sklep on Bank Top. You'll prob end up with a couple of dozen cos they have a wide range. Some are a little bland but most have a superb flavour and the strengths vary from about 6 to 9 abv.
tbh I don't drink much lager/beer at home so a can of the stronger ones is quite nice.

Look what landed in my kitchen this afternoon Dave 🍺👍😀
Enjoy WB.
Lat time I was in Canada, I bought a slab of GI (24 cans) along with a few bottles of wine.
Whilst I was checking out the check out guy took one to scan. He then got interrupted by a guy behind me and promptly forgot to do a multiplier on the till. I didn't realise til I got back to my daughters place. I was leaving the next day, and the store was across town,
I did the right thing and rang the store, but they couldn't do a card transaction over the phone, so I scored 23 cans free!

This week I'm on James Squire "Hop Thief". Not unlike GI but a bit fruitier.
