Amazing shop isnt it? It's like a tardis.I know one of the brothers at Byrne's wines in Clitheroe.
I'm no connoisseur but I usually go in and say to him " 6 bottles of red around a tenner each".
He comes back with some weird stuff I would never have picked (or heard of) but he's not let me down yet.
Wine is strictly for drinking with a meal for me - I can't do a night just drinking wine - it knocks me out!
Yep. Looks like just a little shop when looking through the window and then you go through the doorway in the corner...Amazing shop isnt it? It's like a tardis.
No wonder it's 32 quid, look at the age, 30 years +I love a nice rich Pedro Ximinez Sherry. Really sweet and ideal with vanilla ice cream. This is the best, about £32 per bottl.

I’m quite partial to a decent Cabernet Sauvignon. We shouldn't forget the plonk, sorry fine wine. I know Al enjoys a good red, what about the rest of you?
Conversely. My car's only worth a sixth of what I paid for it half a dozen years ago. It's certainly not gone up in value. No wonder it's 32 quid, look at the age, 30 years +
I wasn't aware that they made wine in Houghton - wonder if it's anywhere near the Boar's Head?I've just bought a 2015 Margaret River Chardonnay (a case) for $230. Very nice.
Coming, a Houghton Shiraz, the Mrs like a good shiraz, and a French Rose that I can't wait to taste
