"Everton's fans also registered their current disapproval with a manager who has failed to win over the fanbase by unfurling a large banner reading "Our Survey Says Get Out Of Our Club" in reference to the recent Fans' Panel survey that asked supporters to rate Allardyce's performance out of 10. He was also the target of less than complimentary chants.
Allardyce, in his defence, can now point to a Premier League table that shows Everton lying in a comfortable eighth place after another three points, and a joyless season will end without anxiety.
He will regard this as the successful completion of the task he was recruited to perform - but it is increasingly hard to see how Allardyce's pragmatic style will win over the cynics among Everton supporters.
Fan scepticism is something Allardyce has lived with at various stages in his career and it shows no sign of changing any time soon."

As I said recently 'rinse and repeat'. Allardyce is a very wealthy chap with an enviable record whilst his ex clubs all fare much worse when they move him on.

Another chap who might beat Sam to unemployed status is Claude Puell. Seemed to do an excellent job when he first pitched up at Leicester but now appears to have lost the players big time. Stuffed 5-0 today by Palace.

Managed by Hodgson as you conveniently decline to mention. Got Palace virtually out of trouble under far more difficult circumstances.

I'm of the opinion that Palace have a better 1st team than Everton.

Of more value to one of the next 3 teams above I'd suggest. Funny isn't it how the pattern of his career continually repeats itself?

1. Appointed by a club who have found themselves in serious relegation threat caused by a poor previous manager who has lost the dressing room.

2. Turns the club around by invariably winning respect in the same dressing room with the same group of players and achieves safety.

2. Despised and betrayed by the noisy ovine mob behind the goals who saw him as a saviour just a few months earlier, watch little of any game but invariably buy the shirts.

3. Sacked and paid up by a weak board once the job was done and replaced by a Manager full of what inevitably turns out to be empty promises who is soon sacked and consigned to the history bin.

4. Appointed by another club in deep trouble and rescues them whilst the previous club suffers either relegation or certainly a dip in fortunes .....

5. Rinse and repeat.

It has left a lot of Directors wishing for a tardis. Lots of supporters looking at their reflection in mirrors for signs of guilt. And Sam with post of money and a smug expression. He's screwed up once in 30 years and it's been massive.
I think any fanbase that prioritises aesthetics over winning deserves all the losing they get. Unfortunately that includes us and that's exactly what happened.

It sucks for fans who would prefer to win by any means necessary but I've given up thinking attitudes might change.

I remember the time we had Big Sam in terms of 25,000 at Ewood. Over a hundred waiting on Rishton station platform at 12pm every match, off round Mill Hill for pre-match drinking. All the pubs round the ground, including the now lost Aqueduct, packed. The Darwen End with flags, scarves, 90 minutes of singing no matter the result. Getting to watch Samba, Givet, Nelsen, Dunny, Pedersen, N'Zonzi, Salgado etc.

The Sam critics obviously just remember it in terms of hoofball and would, and did, risk it all to get rid.

Makes me laugh how the Sam fans actually believe that the ones who don't like him are responsible for him leaving.
The facts are the dark forces of Anderson's and venkys collaboration crews had ke** as the head of it all no matter what.
It didn't matter if king Kenny , Fergie or the mascot was in charge , Coco was taking over by hook or by crook.
If rumours on the grapevine were true he was going to leave anyway at the end of the season.

Makes you laugh eh? Oddly enough it doesn't make me bloody well laugh! Abbey you (and others) appear to be working on the principle that if you repeat something often enough it will become fact. No matter which way you attempt to absolve guilt from yourselves as a collective and wash your hands of the affair Abbey you and the rest of the noisy anti Allardyce warriors were used by Anderson and Kean in their 'get rich quick' scheme to persuade the owners to get rid of Allardyce, Williams et al in order to fleece BRFC and it's owners for as much as possible and as quickly as possible. Contemplate that for a few minutes and then let us know how it feels?
I suppose any satisfaction you may feel now is based on history revealing, to paraphrase Norman Hunter, that you got your retaliation (on the 'scummers') in first by hitting them where it hurts most, in their pocket. Unfortunately the baby that was thrown out with that bathwater was the club and it's supporters! I still don't get how people could vent so much anger at a Manager who had saved us from certain relegation just the season before after the disastrous appointment of Ince. I guess people who opposed his appointment simply hate to be proven wrong.

Moving on slightly and contemplating those events early in the venkys reign recently I've come to the conclusion that relegation from the Prem was always the intention of those two. It may be my own personal conspiracy theory but it certainly took us out of the media spotlight, the heat off them and allowed for many more in's and out's as players left and new ones were brought in. Foreign players coming to the UK and receiving massive wages by their standards minus commissions and expenses of course! ;) How much did we spew on 3rd rate Portugese wannabees and never will be's for a start? The parachute payments and naive owners who had foolishly put their trust in them being seen as the Goose that laid the Golden Eggs and there for the killing by those two shysters in their get abhorrent rich quick scheme. Unless future revelations about those events come out over time I'm laying the blame for the demise of our club and all Jacks dreams firmly at their door.

To quote Salgado:
'Such a great club ruined by dark business'.
Gordon won't like that . It's the anti Sam folks all this that happened
Dark forces /business have never existed.
The venkys are innocent.

Burnley have their own Big Sam in Big Sean . A profit of £20 million last year , debt free and in Europe with a pragmatic style of football not dissimilar to " hoofball " . I wonder when their fans will get fed up with Premier League 'mid-table mediocrity' and demand 'total football ' or wall to wall 'tiki taka' ? I hope they have some as daft as ours , because for me it can't come soon enough . Their decline will follow, just as night follows day .

keyboard warriors? Did I use that term? Doubt it refers to me as I don't do Facebook. How about you abbey?:imp:

btw I cost the club a ST for two seasons until Kean had been sacked. Those who assisted by any means, no matter how small in the sacking of Allardyce and subsequently Williams et al cost the club the parachute payments and untold millions besides along with effectively any chance of regaining Prem status into the bargain. You make a lot of posting 'look where the scummers took us down to' don't you? Have you ever thought where we'd be if Allardyce had continued and Williams had chosen his successor not Anderson?

Michel Salgado was strongly pro Sam.

Oh and as to your mention of rumours about Allardyce leaving. That's good isn't it? Like the rumours surrounding Mowbray and West Brom / Sunderland it's a fact that only good manager's get poached isn't it? Proof being that Kean and Ince never got poached wouldn't you agree?

I don't believe that they have OOT. Theirs haven't been spoiled by the massive wealth which we enjoyed above all our rivals until Sky decided to inject similar wealth to all Prem clubs..... something many of our lot have never been able to come to terms with.

Through a combination of stupidity and naivety plus a dollop of typical Allardyce arrogance I'd suggest Abbey. Nothing illegal unfortunately which you might be hoping will boost your rather floundering arguments.:p

"FA Chairman Greg Clarke told the BBC Allardyce had not been sacked, but they had agreed his position was "untenable". In an interview on the FA website, Glenn said Allardyce was "distraught" but that "discussing a range of issues from potential contraventions of FA rules through to personal comments frankly just don't work when you're the manager of England". However, Glenn did add that it was a "really painful decision" as the FA believed Allardyce was "a great fit for England manager and we think could have been extremely successful".

That's a fair point Abbey . Their Chairman said they wouldn't develop the Bob Lord and Cricket Field Stands because they can't sell out the home areas of their small ground .

However I'm not so sure that's down to Sean Dyche's style of play , more likely that the myth of small town , relatively good crowds has been well and truly debunked . They are no where near and never have been as well supported as they think they are . The people of Burnley and Pendle haven't turned up in big numbers to watch Premier League football , either under Coyle or Dyche , other than when they've gone to watch City , United and Liverpool .

Unless they spend heavily on players I bet they finish lower than 8th next season. From what I've seen this season their squad is dreadfully poor and any results they have got have mainly been scrappy.

Even so and if my hurried arithmetic is correct Everton had amassed just 12 points when he took over from 13 Prem matches. Thats 0.9 per match which extrapolated over a full season of 38 matches is a 35 point total. This would have seen them 4th from bottom between Swansea and Southampton.
Since he went and although still not playing well they've taken 37 points from 18 matches to finish on 49. Thats 1.48 per match. Extrapolated in turn over the season would have been 56 points and seen them above Burnley in 7th position and in a European qualifying position!

If Everton sack him and pay him up next seasons desperate Chairmen will find his price has gone up.... and they'll pay it too! Rinse and repeat. Love him or hate him and some do hate him on here even though he almost certainly saved us from relegation too, his managerial record is remarkable and cannot be denied.
