I have seen this happen quite a lot. Basically: organise (however badly) an event, sell tickets well in advance, bank the money. Job done whatever happens.

Wensleydale road has had priority for centuries. Now it's all changed... but why and based on what I wonder? BwD council needs to adhere to the ages old advice 'if it's not broken, don't mend it' but I fear it never will under a traditional Labour Council with a collective IQ of less than 3 figures.

What on earth possesses that lot to drag other people down to their level rather than have an ambition to raise themselves to a higher plane never ceases to amaze me. I suppose it comes down to 'you can take a pig out of sty..... but it'll still be a pig'.

Not quite Blackburn, but near enough. And I am quite late on this as only just passed by there for the first time in years (it seemed to have been closed for quite a while).
I only just heard that gippos illegally knocked down The Punch Bowl in Hurst Green, Ribble Valley.

Not sure if there has been any update on this case (story above is 9 months old).

This is basically just a more "acceptable" form of "church burning" (see St Mark's church in St Johns Wood, London for the latest in that particular spree) is it not? English history continues to get raised to the ground by "invaders".

So I was in Blackburn town centre for the first time in a while the other day.
Noticed 2 more pubs had shut that were open the last time I was there - I think the one on the corner of Blakey moor has been shut a while.
But I see The Charles Napier has gone under.. .
Ridiculous covid lockdown and Ukraine war inspired increase in prices certainly haven't helped - adding to the problem of the changing demographics.
Death by a thousand cuts. Where has all the regeneration money been spent? On that communist block looking unnecessary cinema where Waves used to be?
