Booing BLM

I’m hoping the Millwall fans loudly applaud their players linking arms tonight . If that happens Sky , BBC , the rest of the MSM and the likes of Lineker , Collymore , Richards et al will be stumped .

How are they going to spin it ? One day the Millwall fans are racist for booing ‘ taking the knee ‘ and what the BLM movement represents , three days later they are cheering their players ‘standing up ‘ against racism and inequality.

Just thought I’d post this . It really does sum up the poisonous left and their spiteful view on life . He goes by the name of AKRed .

That is why I do not do Twitter. Keyboard warriors hiding behind a silly moniker.

I've always thought that sport is the one thing that brings people together, albeit on different sides.
It creates conversations at work, in pubs, on the street. It's not who you are talking to, it's what you are talking about.
Yes, racism is vile and not wanted in life. Those that are guilty of it in sport should be turfed out, but sport should be the catalyst that brings people together, not the instigator of division.
I'd rather see, at the end of a game of football, what the ladies do at the end of a netball game, two teams gather in the centre, arms around each other and celebrate the game they've just played against each other.
There are better ways of getting rid of racism, and, to me, "taking a knee" or genuflecting, is not the way,
Now I've nothing against those netball playing ladies dave .... but I'd like to have!:imp:

However Covid-19 rules out any hugging and close contact. Time honoured tradition was a simple handshake and a "well played mate" comment and I see no need for anything else other than that now a handshake has been replaced with a fist pump.

Millwall’s approach tonight sounds a far more sensible approach to getting the message over regarding the unacceptability of racism. The sooner BLM are dumped the better. I hope Rovers and the rest of football take note as this is sadly going to get messy and the message will be lost.
It's the Football authorities own fault for going completely OTT. Once they thought it supported their long term 'Kick it Out' agenda they went way too far. OK until the conclusion of last season perhaps but to continue with it this season is just mind bogglingly stupid and before last Saturday they had set themselves a real problem..... when tf can we drop it.... and how? They need to perhaps thank the Millwall supporters for giving them the chance to back away from the issue without them being seen as the instigators.

imo That kneeling stuff really took off after those Police did it in London. They should have been on a disciplinary charge as the Police have to neutral and apolitical.

That’s better , a bit of common sense from Millwall FC and a better way to show a commitment to equality and anti- racism

Hopefully other clubs ( Rovers please note ) will follow their example and the nauseating sight of ‘ taking the knee ‘ will eventually be consigned to the dustbin of history . Sport needs to distance itself from the BLM movement.
It’s only because QPR don’t do the knee thing anymore. Millwall would look silly doing it on their own.

I don’t think the Millwall decision was influenced by QPR , ODB . I think their fans reaction on Saturday influenced the club’s decision and good for them I say .

Yes the QPR players had stopped but if you read the BBC article in full it says :

“ Some QPR players will take the knee before Tuesday's game at The Den, despite having stopped the gesture earlier this season after director of football Les Ferdinand said its impact had "been diluted" “

Just hope there isn’t any Millwall booing if they do .

There's been talk of Millwall being fined by the FA. Presumably for the behaviour of their fans but how they could make that stick and on what grounds I really have no idea. Crowds traditionally boo and cheer at all matches. I feel the FA would just make themselves look ever more ridiculous.

If the FA do that it will make it worse. The booing will be copied at stadiums up and down England thus leaving the FA look useless......again.

BTW what are the Jocks and the Taffs doing in their tin pot leagues?

Opinion Poll in the Gruniad (published before the Millwall match) states... "55% of UK adults believe the spread of the BLM movement in the UK this year increased racial tensions, 17% disagree. Among ethnic minorities 44% think it did. The number of black people saying they have faced discrimination within the last year rose to 81% from 74% in 2019"

I can even, reluctantly, feel it in myself. When I see an advert with black or mixed couple actors on TV I can't help the feeling that they have been chosen purely for the colour of their skins and the effect is lost on me.

I'm watching the BLM Sky rally

I hope there is no booing as BLM SKY will be so so disappointed.

They have 20 minutes or so left to stoke the fire

“It’s just that our lads don’t think the knee is relevant, they don’t agree with the political side of that so Britt said.”

Well done Britt , well done Neil and well done Middlesbrough FC

However I’m afraid that in the eyes of Sky Sports , the de facto propaganda arm of the BLM movement , you’re all racists

I wonder what Rovers will do. Prostrate themselves?

If any of the Rovers ‘ powers that be’ read this forum I encourage them to watch this excellent ‘ balanced ‘ interview by Andrew Neil of Trevor Phillips around critical race theory . At the end I’m sure they’ll come to the conclusion that the politics of the BLM movement and Rovers players ‘ taking the knee ‘ has no place at Ewood Park

As an aside , Andrew Neil’s GB News can’t come soon enough ( due to broadcast from March 2021 ) . It’ll be such a change to have balanced , non biased output instead of the left wing propaganda constantly being pumped out by SKY , BBC , Channel 4 and the rest of the main stream media .

He seems to have a lot more oil in his lamp than the average footballer. Well said lad.
