Plus the fact that he is as corrupt as they come.Much the same with allardyce. Lots of Joe public who have had dealings with him don't appear to like his personality but his ex players when giving their opinions certainly seem to respect him as a top football manager.
With so much stupid and crooked money swishing about in football I wonder how many aren't?Plus the fact that he is as corrupt as they come.
That dosent exonerate him though does it?With so much stupid and crooked money swishing about in football I wonder how many aren't?
Bowyer was a dreadful appointment.
'DREADFUL'? REALLY? THEN HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE KEANA, BERG, APPLETON, BLACK, LAMBERT, COYLE?
He had a side full of really good players and couldn't get us into the top six once in the seasons he was in charge.
But we gave it a good go
Since the turn of this year our results have been very poor.
AGREED BUT THEY WERE VERY GOOD BEFORE THE TURN OF THE YEAR. ONLY FULHAM AND FOREST IMO HAVE HAD A GREAT 2022.
Mowbray has been a lucky fella because we have stayed in the top six a few weeks longer than we really should due to other teams having to play catch up with their games in hand.
We are now effectively 8th.
I would love us to get to the play offs and further.
DOESN'T SOUND LIKE IT WITH YOU DESPERATELY WANTING THE MANAGER OUT.
Perhaps with Dack and Diaz back we might turn the corner just at the right time.
AS I'VE SAID WE HAVE BEEN DESPERATELY UNLUCKY TO LOSE THE SERVICES OF SO MANY STRIKERS. NONE OF IT DOWN TO MOWBRAY.
If, however, we end up 8th or 9th it won't have been a good season.
REALLY? BEG TO DIFFER, IT'LL HAVE BEEN OUR BEST SEASON SINCE THE WALKER YEARS.
It will have been our best chance for a shot at promotion for years and our failure to capitalise won't be down to inexperienced players but an inadequate manager.
INJURED STRIKERS AGAIN. OH AND OF COURSE THE SALE OF AA. ALL NOWT TO DO WITH THE MANAGER
Bradley Johnson up front?
'SECOND STRIKER' ACTUALLY DIDN'T WORK DID IT? HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE THO IF OUR STRIKERS WEREN'T ON THE TREATMENT TABLE.
Vale given just six minutes game time when we hadn't scored for about nine solid hours?
AGREED ... BUT THEN AGAIN I HAVEN'T SEEN JACK VALE LIVE OTHER THAN A 10 MINUTE CAMEO FOR THE FIRST TEAM SO I CANNOT REALLY COMMENT. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU WATCHED HIM LIVE WB?
I expect there are quite a few ambitious younger managers who would love to be in Mowbray's chair.
NAMES?
above all other comment! However over the last 10 years have we learnt nothing ?
Is be happy to initially try out some in-house promotion and give Damien Johnson his chance.Eventually managers are sacked or move on . His current record which more or less shows improvement year on year means he has credit in the bank . I’d offer him a new 2 year contract to see if he can further develop this young team . I think they’re a decent team , now pretty strong defensively , just missing another dog of war in midfield and a reliable goal scorer
I tried to explain that Venky’s record of appointing overachieving managers was dire , one in ten years shows that . I’m not sure how much thought and analysis went into appointing TM , probably more luck than judgement . Admittedly I wasn’t sure about him , but thankfully it worked out . He got us back up whilst teams like Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich , Portsmouth are still down there . He then pushed on season by season .
Under Venky ownership, I’d argue that just one decent appointment in 10 years isn’t a record to rely on and as I said , the odds of another decent appointment on that basis don’t look good . I’m not sure if lightning would strike twice in the same place if we sacked him .
Out of interest who do you think would be a decent replacement for TM and why ?
