Seems Djokovic's claim has now been upheld in an Aussie Court. On the other hand the Aussie Sec of State say's they might re-arrest him. Well good! Arrest him and stick him on Nauru or similar. It makes me sick how a top sportsman and serious role model for kids can take a no vax stance. How many people have died the world over? How much damage has been done to the world's economies? Even more telling what is he basing his medical expertise on?
If I were the Oz Govt I'd simply ban him from ever setting foot in Australia again. Persona non grata. That would send out the best message to the soppy anti vaxxers who get their medical expertise from Facebook.

Quite right too. I was speaking to one of my customers just this morning who has refused to pay a wage to an employee who was off with Covid and who had refused to be vaccinated.

I fully agree with that. You can't make them get vaccinated but you can make it hard for them if they don't.

The "luvvie left" (anything but these days aren't they) will be supporting IKEA on this. This is the right copying the left's tactics of financially intimidating businesses to support their social agenda. It's worked fantastically for the left in recent years in turning the private sector woke, so be interesting to see if this IKEA one works when the right do it.

On the vaccine issue though, I'm with the left, and most people on here. Personal freedoms are paramount, except for if you're harming others. And letting a virus run riot in society because you don't want to participate in a vaccine program, is harming others. Personally I think it should be illegal to refuse vaccines.

I can agree with mandatory vaccines OOT. We had em at school and it never did anybody any harm.

As for Djokovic this is how thick he and his ignorant opinion is.
1. 'I wore a mask during the interview' Just why does he think a mask is a complete barrier to a virus? Cos it definitely isn't!
2. "Except when I took the mask off for the photograph". So he had a pre agreement with the virus that it would stay put and not infect anyone else until his photoshoot was over. Either that or he inhaled and held his breath the whole time.

What a thick sod! If brains were made of dynamite he wouldn't be able to blow his bloody cap off!:mad:

I'll repeat what I said before. - You can't make everybody have the vaccine but you can make it bloody difficult for them if they don't. Ban them from public transport, pubs, night clubs, places of work, sports stadiums and airports etc.

I agree Brazier is fantastic. Not just his high intelligence and being a master of his presenting/interviewing art, he's clearly an extremely nice guy who you could wholeheartedly disagree with and shake hands at the end.

On this though I think his argument hinges on the vaccine doing nothing to reduce transmission, which I'm very sceptical about when you consider all aspects of transmission. Even if we assume that there's nothing in the vaccine that conventionally affects transmission (which I think data is inconclusive on rather than proves either way).

Wouldn't just being ill for longer because you didn't get vaccinated increase how many you could infect? Or being more ill means you're coughing on people more?

Lets be honest whether some random anti vax individual plays a few games of tennis or not shouldn't even hit the news with so many far more important issues going on in the world.

If I were the Aussie govt I'd not ban him yet in order to avoid all the protests and associated shit from hordes of anti vaxxers and assorted numpties. Instead I'd wait until the very last minute to order his deportation which will cause him to miss his opening match. By then it will be all too late for him, the tennis authorities and his supporters to do anything else and he will then have to leave the country.

He's not some random individual though.
He's the top ranked tennis player in the world, who a lot of folk hero worship.
And he's trying to show that he's not been jabbed but he can carry on as normal.
I'm surprised at the Aussies here, I thought they would have kicked him out and not given a toss about the repercussions.
Perhaps they still will.
I'm sure the Aussie public would be behind such a move.
