Yep , Lowe was just one in a procession . Certain Rovers fans always need a scapegoat . I never understood the Pederson scapegoating . The guy was a class act , blue and white to the core and a really decent bloke , but he copped it big style .

The NZonzi scapegoating took it to a new level . Where and what level is he playing at now ? How much is he worth ?

To be fair I don't like Pedersen :p

Oh yeah N'Zonzi. He's the player equivalent to slating Allardyce as a manager to me. If I'd done either I'd rapidly change the subject at ever being reminded of it.

I remember watching us away at West Brom that season, we got beat 3-0 I think and everyone was rubbish. But it wasn't Kean's fault that day, oh no. "You're **** N'Zonzi!" ringing out around me as he got a lazy pass from a centre half, was closed down immediately and failed to find a progressive ball forward with every other player on the pitch stood still, marked, picking their nose. Poor bloody defensive midfielders!

Of your list of players I think only Murphy deserved to be lambasted because IMO he had no interest and was clearly a Murphy/Kean contract fiddle
(Nice little earner for both!! At our expense)
Andrews just wasn't good enough for the level he was asked to play, but seemed an honest trier.
Akpan was poor and didn't endear himself by clearly not caring
So......
Akpan and Murphy deserved some stick the rest........!!!!

Rovers players most criticised in last 10 years by season:

13/14 - Lowe, defensive mid, mixed race
11/12 - N'Zonzi (incredibly, but I remember it), defensive mid, mixed race
10/11 - Pedersen, left-wing, white
All that needs to be said to give the casual observer an insight into the football knowledge shared by BRFC supporters.

For further proof see Wilcox, Carsley and absolutely unbelievably Tim Sherwood!!!:joy:

Rovers players most criticised in last 10 years by season:

17/18 - Samuel, striker, black
16/17 - Lowe, defensive mid, mixed race
15/16 - Akpan, defensive mid, black
14/15 - Williamson, defensive mid, mixed race
13/14 - Lowe, defensive mid, mixed race
12/13 - Murphy, centre mid, white
11/12 - N'Zonzi (incredibly, but I remember it), defensive mid, mixed race
10/11 - Pedersen, left-wing, white
09/10 - Andrews, defensive mid, white
08/09 - Roberts, striker, black

I was gonna do 20 years but I think I've made my point. If you play defensive mid, duck. If you play defensive mid and you aint white, ask for a transfer.

The fan collective identifying a weak link in a professional football team is about as discerning as Peter Stringfellow attempting to identify the star signs of his last 50 shags in my opinion.
Personally I don't believe that colour is a factor it's purely the way they played on the field. I didn't know that Lowe (so good you named him twice) was mixed race. I always thought he was white! There are one or two obvious missing criticised players there. Chris Brown and Corry Evans - both white and Liam Feeney - Black.
I'm not sure what the prefixed numbers indicate. Can you enlighten me please?

The numbers are the season. Yeah fair enough sometimes the scapegoaters mix it up so the odd season its tricky to define the most hated player.

On race, I'm definitely not one to pander to political correctness but I think statistically it can't be denied black players have gone a rougher ride from Rovers fans. Hopefully thats changing though.

You can’t conflate all of those players. You have to judge each case on its own merits. And if you think Lowe was unfairly singled out, you obviously don’t remember the flak Murphy, Etuhu, Orr and Chris Brown got during the same period. Lowe just got more because he was inexplicably a regular in the side.
I believe the criticism of Lowe and the others named above was disproportionate though. Somehow sections of the Ewood crowd can't wait to pounce on a misplaced pass or wayward shot when it's carried out by one of their favourite targets. Other players get much more latitude.

However.... You need to reflect on your last sentence a little more amo. On then one hand so many managers, both experienced and less experienced had Lowe down as one of the first names on the team sheet when fit, whilst on the other hand you never see the team train and see the team actually play only very infrequently. As with Allardyce the stats are weighted against your opinion.

Lowe was offered terms but turned it down from the info I was given. Maybe because he thought (like many,Hoilett springs most readily to mind) that he is worth a big contract which is fueled by ego and a very greedy agent whispering bs in his ear.

Furry nuff and quite right too then isn't it? We had a figure in mind and that was that. Seems our owners have learned their lessons the hard way. Maybe they've taken heed of our neighbours in Burnley, Blackpool and Preston and not tried to turn this club into something which it isn't and never can be.

Benchman I guess.

In another piece of news reports Marcus Antonnson probably leaving Italian Leeds for the previous owner's (Cellini) Seria B club Brescia.
Good luck to them, he's bloody useless and bone idle. Why Mowbray kept selecting him is a mystery to me.

Eh?..... How can that be? Lots of experts at Ewood reckoned he wasn't good enough for the Rovers.:imp::rolleyes:
