Interesting that Amo. I never saw much in that Peter and it seems we've missed nowt by letting them go, however I'd imagine our investment in them will not have been repaid by some distance. I doubt one Damien Duff every few years is a worthwhile exercise.

Thought I'd see what a few of our old academy prospects are up to these days:

Kevin Pezzoni - 6'5" German centre-back, playing in the Greece Superleague with Apollon Smyrnis
Mamadi Keita - Guinean midfielder, currently plying his trade with FC Puch in the Salzburg League
Jemal Johnson - American forward, back home in California with Fresno FC in the US second tier
Sergio Peter - once an exciting winger, his career took a spectacular nosedive and he's currently playing seventh division football in his native Germany
Just had a reminder that we once signed Jordan Slew for £1.1m for Sheff United. Steve Kean's words when we signed him - "He has strength, he wants to get in behind defenders and I think he’s a dynamic powerful young striker. He’s certainly one for the future."

Slew now plays for Radcliffe in the Northern Premier League Division One North.... In the same division as Bamber Bridge.... one division above Clitheroe.

I wonder how much those two got in the brown paper bag from Slew's agent? It'd have ended up with all the rest in some bank in that dodgy asian 'tax haven' Brunei I'd wager.

At least he's done better than Myles Anderson then! Slew's not up to much but he's not quite in the same league of failure. I rem Myles dad reckoned he'd play for England one day..... unfortunately he couldn't quite manage to get his lap dog named as England manager.

Lennie Johnrose has motor neurone disease.
Seems to be being very pragmatic about it. Good luck to the lad and one can only hope that he ends up going the way he wants to.
Full interview on Radio Lancs at 6pm tonight.

Putting a like on your post didn't feel right WB but thanks for putting it on, very sad and moving and as you say, I also hope he can get his wish for an end of his choosing (It should be everybody's right, but the powers that be continue to not listen to the masses!)
It puts football in context

I have a friend suffering from advanced MND. He's an Oxford graduate and can now only communicate by pointing a laser pen at a querty keyboard picture. It's an horrific condition

Wow Al ...that's really the most pathetic post I've actually read on the net in a long long while.
You really do have problems and need help. How you can say a fractured skull is deserved is quite disturbing.
I suppose johnrose deserves it to.

Unless it's a Rao.

I don't listen to you any more Abbey. You are too childish to have any effect on me.

You can't both always have the last word. Seems to be escalating, best to back down whilst still retaining some dignity is my advice.

My last word on it but if being childish means not wishing a fractured skull on a young lad then childish I am .
