So this is where all the legendary posters from brfcs ended up . I was " resting " as the actors like to describe it , then returned ( after the Election was called yesterday ) to find everyone had " flit "..............Al, Steve Moss , Yoda , Abbey , SKH , Ottoman , Clayton's Left Boot - and others too numerous to mention . Took a bit of detective work and some time to work it out - gosh there was some "trouble at t'mill " You're a very naughty boy SKH !

Anyway just a bit about me . Rovers fan since my first game on 27th August 1966 v Crystal Palace ( isn't the web wonderful for the detail) , having been dazzled by what I believe is the greatest football kit in the world . My early heroes were Billy Wilson , Mike Ferguson Eammon Rodgers and Stuart Metcalfe

Born in Church , so come from a family of divided loyalties . My departed Dad and one of my brothers , both Clarets and my other two brothers are Rovers .

As other posters have commented , thanks for setting this up and I'll try to contribute as best I can.
Unbelievable OOT, your debut at Ewood was the very same day as my own. I've still got the programme with the corner chewed off!

You inspired me to check when my first game was - 23 Nov 1968 v Charlton - not a great start - we lost 0-1

Just a point and lest we forget...... 14500 and not a bloody Indian chicken farmer in sight! How weird's that when there was over 27000 on for the same fixture just two years previous? Town full of home grown folk with pink skins too. I guess Blackburn supporters never were the best eh? They didn't need much excuse to stay away back then either did they?

Greetings OnlyOneTugay. Fergy was summet else wasn't he?

But.... Perhaps we need to advertise a bit more? When we set up t'other lot applied roversfans.com to the swear filter so that no one could see it but I noticed that has been freed up now and Glenn even posted a link, although I feel that might have been down to embarrassment at the (unnamed) Mods actions..... if indeed it actually was done by a Mod. o_O

I don't know about the attendance figure, I do know that I got passed over the heads of the crowd in the Blackburn End before sitting on the red track on the Riverside about 10/15 yards from the Blackburn end, as it was full.

Hello
I'm a long distant Swedish Rovers fan who is residing in Finland. I grew up with English football in the late 80s early 90s which was shown on telly on Saturdays(only one game). I remember that i saw the team name Blackburn on the telly text and though it sounded a bit tough.....
Otherwise i do enjoy music, film and good pint of english ale or porter.

Why not a separate thread with posters memories of their first ever Rovers game?

Then they could be preserved and easily accessible. I love Rovers history.

Some great stories to read on here already.

I would start it but on a mobile phone and with fat fingers would fuck it up.

As a taster my first game was at Ewood a 7-2 hammering of Spurs. Bryan Douglas the man himself told me years later it was the finest Rovers team performance he had ever played in.

And I bloody well missed that match!
That 2-8 at Upton park can't have been far off either! Only spoiled by the fact that they lost the return a couple of days later at Ewood. :(

I went to Mypia in Finland to watch Roves, another good trip. Better than going to Ewood Park!!
