Depends of the finances. Rem we will be on a minus figure as the cost of supporting the BRFC set up will be massive compared to the behind the scenes spending by smaller clubs. Commercially I'd look at...
1. Renting out Brockhall and make the facilities available to other local football / rugby clubs.
2. Maximising revenue from the facilities at Ewood by pushing hard at the conference centre market and maximising the function rooms. As for the suites behind the Clayton and Douglas ends they could be offered as small prestige office facilities.

Might be drops in the bucket income level when we were in the Prem but now they could be vital.
Yes there's a need for conference facilities and function rooms everywhere. Why hold them in a hotel when you can hold them at a venue like Ewood?. Dave Biggar who was responsible for the Dafabet deal (Myers brought him in so credit to him also) isn't here now though he always had an eye on going back to the US. Should be able to get a better shirt sponsorship deal than the vast majority of the other L1 clubs. Its not gonna be some local garage even with Venkys incompetence. I'm not sure what the club should do on a corporate level. Obviously grudges are involved on my part but if cleaners, etc are being laid off what justifies a pretentious catering firm still holding an executive contract? Not just saying that due to my grudge against that particular firm but it could make financial sense as well.

Agree Abbey, in fact the worse thing that can happen now is nothing in my opinion. We need to know if we are going to be in admin, we need to know if the scum will still be here, we need to know the budget (oh dear we know that), we need to know who the manager is, we need to know what players we will have, the list goes on, one thing they can know is I won't be buying a ticket if they are still here.
Nothing just whispers about tax men and accountants whilst the ship sails off into L1. Relegation certs for next season will or without a points deduction.

Let's hope oyston fc fans don't do a coventry and have smallest number of fans ever for a Wembley game in the play offs for promotion to L1.

All credit to Bowyer and the Blackpool players for actually getting to Wembley. A promotion would surely adjust the situation between fans and owner wouldn't it?

Maybe but then what? They were going bust before Oyston went in with a ground that was shut if it was a trifle breezy. In the last decade they've been up to the prem and back, got a new ground and owe the bank nowt. We've done similar promotion, relegation and a new ground but we owe the bank 120 bloody million!
If Oyston goes then no doubt they'll go bust proper and get their wish.

Wonder what their viewpoint is on FUP which the old sod Whelan backed?

Garry Cook was brought in to find new owners apparently. Some spiv from London probably offered his services too but Wigan didn't return the call. Despite being a xenophic old sod (ironic considering who's interested) and a FUP endorsing hypocrite this isn't a bunch of trustees catering to a greedy families every whim. I'm guessing their plans must be very viable as Whelan wouldn't sell to Chinese people lightly.

As if Wigan were not enough of a concern already when it comes to automatic promotion.

Some funny stuff about Malky Mackay brokering the deal.

Hmmm ..... I know the Oystons secreted a lot away but still 31m seems far more than the club has ever been worth.

In one way it's a shame because the Oystons along with the Board at Burnley appear to be in charge of small football clubs who are able to function without taking on huge debt. An example to the rest financially perhaps?

I wonder if these people quoted in that article have considered every angle including the possible down sides........
Tim Fielding, honorary vice president of Blackpool Supporters' Trust, was in court along with more than 50 other fans. Describing the mood among those present as "jubilant", he said: "It's a massive game changer. The figures that they [the Oyston family] would have to pay to keep hold of the football club are huge. "We are hoping that this will see regime change. I think the reality is they will have to find a buyer for the club. This is what we have been fighting for for the last four years, and it's come to fruition."

Still I guess there's always AFC Fylde as an alternative for Mr Fielding.

There is one thing that I admire about the Oystons though. They refuse to pay money to agents. If a player has an agent he has to pay him himself. If all clubs insisted on that a lot more money would stay in the game and parasitic agents would not prosper and continually agitate to move players around. What an improvement that would be.

Agree Alan, Simon Jordan had a similar stance, I was listening to him the other day on radio talking about the negative influences agents bring to a club, needs stopping across the board.

Only good until he has a contract in his hand.

Best reminds me of a poor mans Stan Collymore a little. Liverpool signed him from Forest for 11m. For those that remember him Collymore had everything, close control, power, balance, two good feet, good on the ground and in the air. A formidable centre forward..... or at least he should have been. He rarely performed to expectations and frequently disappointed. I was told by someone on the youth coaching staff at Anfield that the 1st team management couldn't understand why he didn't perform as expected. Took em almost 12 months to come to the conclusion that Collymore's dream was to be a rock star and that playing football didn't really float his boat! Compare that to the likes of Shearer, didn't have Collymore's all round ability but did have in spades a burning desire to be the best. Nowt can be done for players with Collymore's mentality I'm afraid.
