Yes, but at the end of last week’s match, we we were all dreaming of how good if we could have been nine points in front of Wigan.
Well, fast forward one week and we are eight points in front and they have used up another home game and we gained 3 goals on the GD too :)

They might have 'fresher legs' than Wigan that's for sure.

Seems the Rotherham threat has receded.

Northampton v Shrewsbury Tuesday 20/3/18. I don't want to be gloomy but with Northampton 4th off bottom and in poor form we could be back to second after this match.

You can beat a good team but it's harder to beat a lucky one. It's looking more and more like the playoffs which we should be able to win as the rest after the top three look miles behind.

I’m more optimistic that we will go up automatically.
Our goal difference over Shrewsbury will not now be caught, so they have to keep in front of us.
I’m also a long way from giving Wigan nine points for their three games in hand.
We need to focus on our own performances and we’ll be OK .

Deadline day for the Oystons today. They have to stump up 20m to Belokon ..... or else!

Looks like they have some sort of deal (scam?) to maintain control. I hope Belekon goes back to Court to enforce immediate payment.

Shrewsbury lost the Checkatrade final to Lincoln. It will be interesting to see how they respond in their next few games.

"Next few games" starts tonight at Valley Parade!

Hope they don't respond as strongly as Wigan have after getting narrowly dumped out of the FA Cup by Southampton! Some tough cookies Wigan.... they had one hell of a tough FA Cup run having to knock out 3 Prem teams on the way in Bournemouth, West Ham and Man City before Soton ended their ambitions. Cook and his team certainly have my admiration.

0-0. Could have been worse but could also have been better after Beckles attracted two yellow cards after 60 mins and the Shres were down to 10 men.
So it's a 4 point gap from the same number of games and with 5 to play plus of course a goal diff which is worth a point in the right circumstances.

Shrewsbury are a right thuggish lot. Following through on late challenges seems to be hardwired into their brains, I'm surprised they ever finish a game with 10 men. Says something about this league that a team can be third simply by being the best cloggers.

I thought Wigan were worse at Ewood. Northampton and Oldham being up there too.
