New Kit

View attachment 86

My favourite ever Rovers kit . Halved shirts , halved collars , halved sleeves and halved cuffs , with white shorts & white socks with two blue rings . I had one of these as a young Rovers fan and in my opinion no kit has matched it since. Pity there wasn't a badge on it .
Not bad Steve but my favourite was the 1960 Cup Final shirt, short sleeved and with a v neck. Played in a very similar version in the early 60s!

Forgot to ask if anyone has recently seen the 1960 Cup Final shirt in the club shop? There were a series of old replica shirts in there a few seasons back but I suspect they have stopped doing them now. I had two of the Cup Final shirts, one from the club shop and my first from Toffs, who still sell them. Unfortunately, the colour ran on both of them after a while and I'm a bit reluctant to buy a third. If we start the season well, I may do. I'm sick of seeing Utd, City and Liverpool shirts in Northwich!

That was a good one too Mark. Very similar to the mid to late 60's version but short sleeves and v neck . Also like the fact that the 1960s FA cup version had the town coat of arms as a badge . I've always liked the shirts that accentuate the halves , be it on the collar , cuffs or sleeve. The white shorts and socks are a must !

Disappointed! I thought they might bring back the red and black halves. That shirt was brilliant.
Danny Graham couldn't stop a pig in a ginnel.:p

I think they've done a really decent job. Obviously Black and Red has always been our iconic away kit colours since 94/95. It's a bit of a cheap gimmick to re-introduce it after our slide in to league one, but it is a nice kit.

Now this might be rather contentious but if the club ever ponder a venture away from the traditional Royal blue I'd much prefer Navy to that insipid Sky blue colour which we have employed a number of times in the past. Even a splash of navy is good imo, I loved the Kappa promotion kits of 2000-2005

We just have "thee" best home kit . I'm surprised how navy was such a big part of the colour scheme in the early years ( well up to 1926 at least ). I've always been a royal blue and white halves traditionalist , but have to say I had a liking for that 2014-2105 sky blue halved shirt. with the navy trim. I guess it's like fancying brunettes all your life , but then an unusual looking blonde suddenly catches your eye , and you can't really understand why .

Anyway back to brunettes , my favourite Rovers kit will always be 1963 - 71

I quite like the new away kit , even more so if it resembled the AC Milan shirt of old (1960s) , thin black and red stripes

That bloke has no taste has he? This was about the worst kit I can ever remember us playing in! It resembled a Blackpool shirt that was bought by some 5th Division team from Blackburn Combination cos it was cheap and had been played in and washed every week without any soap powder added to the wash for about 10 years.
I had that shirt. My Dad bought it for me as a Birthday present I believe!

Anyway, it may be a bit of Photoshop going on, but I think Conway looks in good shape on that photo. He also looked like he'd slimmed down when I watched the highlights of the Barrow game. I think his body shape does him a bit of a disservice to be honest, a bit like Dunny.

I thought exactly the same about Conway. He looks in good nick. Maybe he reads MBs. He also looked fast on that rush through the middle to score.

The highlights are now on Youtube too.

And dirty knees, proper. Bet he's still a better finisher than anything we'll have under Venky's patronage.

I preferred the old red and black halves. However the new shirt does not look too bad......it will be £1 at the car boot in 2 years time.
