Well, we are getting back to normal. After five months of very wet conditions, the course is betting back to "normal".

What is not getting back to previous conditions is my back!
Problem occurred a few days ago, thought it had cleared, felt good on the first, hit a good shot, got round the first 9 with 15 points, pretty happy.
However, on the ninth, I was picking my ball out of the hole and wham. Severe pain in my lower back, couldn't even swing on the 10th tee.
Gave it away. 15 minutes walk back to the car park, 20 minutes just getting all my gear into the car and 10 minutes changing my shoes.

Effing golf!!!!!

Effing old age!

But .... "However, on the ninth, I was picking my ball out of the hole and wham." I suggest that you are using muscles that aren't used to that particular activity! Probably isn't a move that is in your 'muscle memory'. :p

Not much golf at the moment dave. Not the best time to sell your property in cairns I'd suggest. Everything ok with you?

Drog, It's 1500+ miles or 2540km to Cairns from where I am.
Weather is a lot different too. It's cold and wet here and warm and sunny up there.
Property got sold quickly, though the first buyer had to back out as he was going through a separation and couldn't get finance. However a new buyer came in quickly and we hope to settle in a week or so.

Here, we are wet, golf is something that is a dream at the moment. Our home course is closed until further notice.
Just as an indication of how wet it has been, our rain gauge over flowed at 140 mm after me emptying it at 80 mm earlier in the day, so I reckon we'd had a lot more than 220mm in a 24 hour period.
As I type, the wind is still blowing, the rain is still coming down, and we've got a leak.

Played at our home course, the full course, for the first time since February.
I walked, and I thought I'd be stuffed at the end. Surprisingly, I was quite relaxed.
Didn't play that well, after such a long layoff, and couldn't make any decent putts, but still ended up with 28 points, and did score one nearest the pin.

Good to be back with everything normal.
Just keep the rain away.

Warning for Drog: sign outside the pro shop.

Reasonable two rounds.
ran 2nd on thursday on 33 points, lost to a guy had 5 points for a hole in one! and a back nine that was patchy to say the least.
Friday was a day to forget, as well, just couldn't hit the ball.

I'll never understand why that is. I can only ever put it down to inconsistent tempo.

But it happens, nontheless though Drog.
I'll bet it's happened to you as well.
I'd considered the amount of grog the night before, but a couple of beers and a couple of glasses of wine, with an early bed at 9.30 shouldn't have made such a change.
I can only put it down to a form of mental apathy, thinking it will carry on as before.
Oh, and being a bang average golfer.
