What clubs did you plumb for dave?
Mainly Taylor Made, but it's that long since I ordered them ,due to delivery constraints, I can't remember exactly what I ordered.
I do know that its going to set me back the best part of $3500.

I "think" I ordered, 1 wood, 3 wood 5 wood 3 rescue 5-9 irons PW SW Chipping putter and a mallet head putter.
I should be getting them in about two weeks time.
I hope I don't end up doing what a mate did, spending heaps on new Callaways and seeing his game plummet. he's gone from 16 to 23 in a matter of months. Mind you he did have his cataracts done.

Drog, clubs arrived.

Drivers Sim 2 Taylormade 1Wood, 3 wood, 3 rescue and a 5Wood. Shafts are Carbon?
Irons 5-9 Taylormade P790. Steel shafts
Waiting on my chipper Odyssy.
Kept my cheapie putter (cost me $40) but it works really well
Total cost so far $3790.00. (Doesn't include my new buggy)
Tomorrow will be my first work out with them. I'll keep you informed.

I hope they suit you dave. Proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say.

The biggest improvement in my game came when I bought a driver with a 12 degree loft. All of a sudden I became the straightest driver in my group and I don't think I lost much distance. I really wish I was fit enough to play again. Even with a sit on buggy.:worried:

Well, gave them a good workout yesterday, on a wet drizzly day.
To say I'm over hitting shots is an understatement. It took me all round to realise it though.
I'm probably hitting 30 metres longer with my driver and fairway woods, and 10-15 longer with my irons.
I said to a mate, "what do you reckon?" technology, he says. The technology of your old clubs is probably 20-30 years old. The new ones are probably 1-2 years old.
Finished up with 34 Stableford points. Not bad for a first outing with new clubs.

Forgot to mention my new cart. Worked well, but took just about the whole round to get used to it, and the optimum speed for me. At times it was like a bucking bronco when I inadvertently hit the speed up button. Like the ease that it can be set up and taken down after 3 or 4 minutes each way.
Just recharged the battery, about two hours to top up. Manufacturer says it's good for 36 holes without a recharge.

Funny you say that Al.
I had a 5 wood in my bag for years and never used it. Then, about six months ago I gave it a try, and, low and behold, I hit it straight, without any change of grip. Not sure of the loft, but it worked.

Pretty sure it's a combination of the increased loft and the shorter shaft. More control. I could always rely on my 7 wood to hit a good shot as long as I had a decent lie. I know I've said it before but I really miss my golf. :worried:

So, I've had my new clubs for about 5 months now.
Despite trying to play each Thursday with the guys, we haven't managed a round since Feb 24.
It has rained, and rained, and rained since then. The course has been flooded about four or five time since then, (it's only a couple of metres above sea level).
Sydney has beaten it's average annual rainfall (just over 1200mls) and we are just into April, with more forecast to come. In the 24 hours to 8am today, our rain gauge had 110mls).
As they would say here, "You can stop now Huey*"

All that rain is to do with La Nina (the little girl) Pacific weather pattern dave. When El Nino turns up you'll get a drought and your golf balls will run for miles.

Still been pissing down.
Only managed a few holes previously, and one full round today (although some of the holes were shortened)
Got to admit, I'm completely stuffed. Truly, the course should have been closed, but it's been like this for months.
Standing in the shower was the best thing that happened today (and the beer after). As a group we are looking at having to travel to get a proper round in, along with many other groups.
Still, I managed 38 points today, but was hard hard work. Putter worked well, many one putts.

Bandit!

dave do you not have any of those swing studio thingy's where you and a couple of mates can play virtually any top course in a studio? We have one available for hire at the GC (great for winter nights) and a chap I play golf with occasionally has invested in one at home!

This lady has just won the US ladies open.
I know ODB doesn't like ladies sport, but this girl is good.
I wish I had a swing like hers.

note how long her club is.

Golf is a sport that women are often good at and in the main they are well worth watching.

I don’t mind ladies sport at all Dave, I just can’t abide all the woke promotion of womens football in this country at the moment that’s all. I enjoy watching ladies wrestling for example.

Any athletics, swimming and Equestrian too are OK but golf and tennis are well worth a look
