Time will tell, of course, but the initial impressions are that we may have more credible and transparent leadership at the club; which would be the least that Rovers fans deserve.
Hmmmm can Steve Waggott have a parachute Abbey?

However it's all variations on a theme isn't it? How many times has this old potato been discussed at both supporter and at club level. Fact is that we couldn't fill Ewood when we were Premier League Champions and the richest club in the land. Blackburn has simply too small a fan base and hinterland so we've no chance now. That's not to put the town or the supporters down btw as we are pretty well supported as it is compared to other clubs in the country and tbh including ALL our near neighbours. Plain fact of the matter as I've said time and again is that either the cost of running the club must come down OR we have to raise money by other means OR we have to man up and face the fact that there are too many clubs for too few supporters. 92 full time league clubs being a ridiculous amount whilst the number in and around Lancashire and Greater Manchester towns will imo eventually become financially unsustainable. Lets face it if it were 1875 now and football was to be invented all over again then I doubt there'd be more than 40 full time professional clubs in just two divisions and none of them with a stadium in the town centre. Sooner or later financial reality will have to kick in.
In the meantime however this report suggests that I may be mistaken. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-s...boom-as-new-fans-flock-to-games-idUKKBN15I005

I think Rovers home gates have held up reasonably well this season . If you compare them to Preston who've been on the brink of the play-offs all season , they can only be described as outstanding . Preston's last home gate against play off rivals Derby ( yes it was on TV ) was 13,520 . Rovers v Bradford ( live on TV ) was 13,443 . Then look at Burnley who are having their best season in 40 odd years , couldn't sell out the home areas against Man City . I'm not sure what the away allocation is at Turf Moor but lets say it's 3,000 . That leaves Burnley to sell around 18,000 to fill the ground . I think they've only filled it on a couple of occasions . As their Chairman said it's pointless redeveloping Turf Moor when the demand just isn't there . Then take Stanley , a great little club , but squeezed for fans between the 'big two ' and struggle to get more than 1,500

Rovers struggled to get 20,000 home fans on a regular basis when we were in the Premier League . In my time ( since 1966) Rovers have never had big crowds , in fact in the 3rd Division they were much lower than we get now . .We also have to accept that Blackburn has changed . The ever increasing Muslim population , with exceptions , don't tend to show any interest in the Rovers and if they're into football then it tends to be Liverpool , Man Utd etc . In future the club will have to increasingly rely on supporters from the outlying towns , but then you're contesting with Preston , Burnley , Stanley and Bolton .

BlueandWhiteHalves posted a fascinating link about uncontested catchment areas . Rovers have the 4th lowest , with Stanley and two others . Preston , Burnley and Bolton are higher .

I'm not for giving tickets away . I just don't think it works in the long run and devalues the product . I'm fine with special deals , for example 6 games for £100 was great value ( how much cheaper can they go before people will buy them ?) and the tickets for children are really affordable . Season tickets are a real bargain when you take into account the fantastic facilities .

I'm fairly happy with the crowds we're getting and realistic about it . If we get promoted we might get a few more next season , but if we struggle it might be a few less . ( referring to home supporters - obviously away fans will improve overall attendances )

If we don't get promoted then the crowds will probably drop by a thousand or more

What happens at 12 Steve? Kids circumstances and therefore their finances don’t change until they leave school. By that time they inevitably do as mine have and move away. The long term prognosis isn’t good for teams around these parts.

Short term you are right. But you want them in the seats as young as possible (but after their out of diapers). That’s their most impressionable years and when they are most likely to form irrational emotional attachments. That’s when you’ll turn them into committed fans, regardless of league standing. It’ll be “their” club. So long term they’ll be paying for the ticket so they can accompany their young ones 8+ years after.

Mid-term, maybe offer the 13-21 year old crowd a 5 pound ticket. Ditto the 65+ crowd.

Well when I was 12 I had a season ticket and I had all through my teen years,I'm sure pocket money and birthdays can provide enough cash for that,I used to have a paper round, sports pink round, milk round and baby sitting duties when I was a teen, that paid for my season ticket.

Absolutely. But first they must become fans to have the desire to spend their cash on tickets.

But most rovers fans go the 1st time with a family member, most Dads take there young ones with the hope that they get the BUZZ,I remember taking mine far to young and he just stood all the 1st half behind the gosl telling Derbys keeper to get on his line.Maybe there are data bases that hold family records and the club could offer free family tickets for certain games, and then reduced prices for a few games after if the offer is taken up.

This was taken from the ‘other’ site so no hard work by me just a blatant cut n paste. These are the Rovers home attendances after the Away fans have been deducted.

“You can see a jump from Boxing Day when the half season tickets came in. that's probably a bit due to half St sales and a bit due to gradually better form. It looks like our core audience from then has been 11K (the two Tuesday night games against Walsall and Bury are the lowest since Christmas).”

I must say I'm seeing on the concourse a good number of 'drop offs' returning at the moment. Of course they deny being 'glory hunters' though.

There really ARE both categories of stay away supporters Abbey whether you like it or not. Tell you something else, as far as I can detect the glory hunters vastly outnumber the principled ones too.

Oxford game £10 advance tickets all areas but cat B prices from 3pm match day. Likely to be done and dusted by then. Too little too late by the Club.

So you 2 pay for seats in the wings but sit in the cushioned ones central stage? What happened to paying the going rate for what you get Drog?
