The biggest thing Utd have lost is the Fergie fear factor. Teams used to shit themselves and be halfway to a loss before they even rocked up at Old Trafford in the past. Even though some of his teams were much worse than the current team. The likes of Djemba-Djemba, Andersen and Kleberson were awful, but Utd were always the team to beat. Now,they don't have that fear factor and teams like Burnley come and attack them at home. Was totally unheard of in the Fergie days as you'd end getting spanked by 4 or 5 (or 7 in our case) if you tried.

Ferguson was immensely lucky having the Class of 92 come through. However there was no luck in the way that he managed and controlled them! Not only that but that group of players set the standards and expectations of performance, professionalism, dedication and perhaps most importantly life style behaviour to all the 'imported' players. It's been my long held opinion that selecting Man Utd over Spurs would have been the making of Paul Gascoigne rather than the beginning of his personal and professional downfall.

But as I say if there is 4o0m on the field in red and 25m in claret and he was lucky to get a draw in the end then who the hell is going to trust him with their cheque book? Man Utd for all their spending are a country mile away from the teams that we faced under Hughes. I think the only current MU players who would get anywhere close to a start in that team would be de Gea and possibly Jones.
I don't see how the Burnley result is that relevant to Mourinho's point to be honest. Utd's 43 points from 20 games shows drawing at home is a rareity.

I think he's in a much tougher league than Fergy generally had. He's up against Guardiola, Conte, Klopp, Pochettino and Wenger and is currently getting the better of 4 out of 5. The one he isn't getting the better of could break almost every record there is this season and is the favourite ahead of Bayern Muinch, PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid to win the Champions League.

Faced with that I think even Fergy would be demanding a bigger chequebook.

Wow, gutter journalism befitting of the sun indeed. Hell would appear to have no fury like a Colleen who I suspect might have something to do with this “story!”

Of course. Funny Stuart Ripley didn't apply. He's qualified as a solicitor since hanging his boots up. Then again..... maybe it's not that funny if he knew what he was up against.

I'm sure this appointment has been made solely on merit
According to the article Malanga has footballing experience at senior administrative level , a law degree and speaks five languages. I’m not sure how he was selected , but on that basis his application must have had merit.

My quibble / concern is how on earth Gordon Taylor got it in the first place and how he’s kept it for so long !

Saw this for the first time on the news tonight Kamara’s reaction and the fact that the Sparta Prague player covered his mouth leads me to only one conclusion, Kamara was racially abused . Calling a black player a monkey is appalling and disgusting. .

UEFA / FIFA has to seriously punish clubs whose players bring the game into such disrepute. Fines aren’t enough

Both Celtic and Rangers decide not to take the knee in today's match saying it has become an empty gesture.
I think it should have been for 1 week only. But controversy always comes from the Old Firm. They should have gone quiet seeing as there has been enough going on in the build up to that match. I am having a Rugby day. Recording the Chelsea match.

I noticed some of the England rugby players took the knee yesterday , despite the fact that Billy Vinapola doesn’t :

“ What I saw in terms of the Black Lives Matter movement was not aligned with what I believe in. They were burning churches and Bibles. I can't support that,"

It’s always been pathetic empty gesture and it’s time players in all sports packed it in . The BLM movement has done more harm to race relations in this country than the National Front .

Going to have to get this out. Burnley are no longer my most hated club. This is now Crewe Alexandra. I will keep it simple. Not go on. I don't want a ban from this forum. They should do the honourable thing and close down. Clearly they aren't doing that. The EFL should kick them out. Dario Gradi ?. No comment. Edit. Chairman just resigned.

I understand what you are saying but Crewe are a football club and you cannot label every Crewe supporter as a paedophile.

They have acted first with a brush under carpet attitude. Then worse, Like they don't care. What they really could do is change the Alexandra part of their name. That can be viewed as a respect symbol to the victims. Plus everyone in the World knows the name. Soon as it is said, People will think, Well you know what will come to mind. So a change would sort that. Oh Drog. Their fans have a choice now. Do they really want to support a team that's reputation is in the gutter ?. If I saw one of them wearing a top, They would hear my opinion.
