I’ve attempted to refrain from commenting on this thread . My wife is black so I didn’t want to get involved in the discussions which I knew would turn sour . Unfortunately I’ve failed on the former but was right on the latter !
The left / liberal intelligentsia had a dilemma yesterday . They hate Britain , the monarchy , the US and the Commonwealth with a twisted passion . All that came together in joyous union yesterday , much to their chagrin . However at the same time they had to balance that hatred with the fact that Meghan is mixed race of African descent . In their tiny metropolitan and leafy suburban minds , they couldn’t be seen to disapprove of that , despite the fact that they’d have a fit if someone like Meghan’s mum or my wife moved in next door .
Sadly for the left /liberal intelligentsia the royal wedding turned out to be the best of British . The ceremony was the embodiment of tradition and modernity and gave us an inkling of how our great country can confidently progress . Arguably , as referred to in an earlier post , a dark cloud on the horizon is Islam and the difficulty of integrating the followers of such a backward and misogynist religion into Britain’s future , in the way that the mixed race Meghan and my wife have integrated .
I’m not a flag waver but it was lovely to see the Stars and Stripes and the Union flags waved together with an innocence and joy . It was such a pleasant change from the flag waving of divisive nationalism seen in Scotland and to a lesser extent by those trying to push the EU project
BenJimJohn’s hateful and divisive posts no longer get a reaction on the Momentum echo chamber that is BRFCS , so he posts them over here . It’s pleasing that one or two of our more skilful posters have called him out on this particular thread .
By the way , I haven’t posted since I saw you at the last match Al . Thanks for the welcoming my wife to our season ticket seats and for your kind compliment about her in an earlier post . She said as we sat down what a charming gentleman you were . See you next season
