Support you independent local brewery I say! I wouldnt say Whychwood make the best beers around but I think they have some decent ales and its sad to see them being forced to close as they have always been around. A sad day for this brewery and it´s history.
Marstons are dreadful. They bought out Jennings brewery in Cockermouth in the Lake District and then closed it as part of their rationalisation programme. Jennings brewed some lovely ales.

Marstons also brew Wainwrights a beer previously brewed by Thwaites. I find it undrinkable and it looks like fizzy p!ss water. The original Wainwright recipe is now produced as Thwaites Gold, a lovely ale. Sadly you can’t get Thwaites in bottles.

The best pint for miles around is from the 3 Bees Brewery. We always go on a match day and it is the highlight of the day unlike the football 😂😂

I don't drink ale out of bottles. It has to be on draught for me. Too fizzy in bottles. OK for Lager though.

Ditto. Funny how ale drinkers attempt to christen lager as a drink for girls when it's usually 25% stronger than the "maidens watter " that is frequently preferred by a minority of drinkers in the uk. BB needs making aware that the world drinks lager.

Lager in mainland Europe is generally superb. They know how to do it. In fact, didn't they invent it?

The lager available in Britain is woeful. I find that extremely odd because I can't imagine it's due to low demand. Perhaps the demand is just low quality. 😄

A few days ago, the Mrs and I took our grandkids to Canberra.
We had a pretty good time, warm weather, Floriade ( a flower festival) and a sojourn to Questacon (a science journey for kids).
But, I found a quirky bar. A Canadian themed bar in Kingston ACT.
I wondered in for a quick ale (I was wanted to cart the kids back) and I found a collection of ales I'd previously encountered in Ontario when my daughter got married over there.
Anyway, I bought three cans AU$30 the lot.
Result, stunning. Three different beers, but absolutely brilliant.
If you can get them in your country, then do it. It might be expensive, but thoroughly worth while.
Check them out at:
