Good point although dealing with the demands of the cast and getting them all together for shooting won't be easy will it? I think a good few were killed off in the last episode of Peaky Blinders to get their remuneration demands off the agenda and also to facilitate the actual shooting of the series.

We've binge watched GoT up to the final series, so maybe it's because we're not watching a whole series in the space of a fortnight, but is anyone else finding it a bit plodding so far? Maybe it will get going this week.

You and blue and white halves appear to hold polar opposite views slks. Personally I tend to agree with him that there is a lot to get through and a lot to resolve in the few remaining episodes.

Only if his remuneration demands are too high for the next series!

GoT Episode 3.... The Long Night.

Wow!
*MASSIVE HUGE ULTRA SPOILER ALERT***********

Phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal.

...That said:

1. I thought the battle tactics were stupid. The way the Dothraki died was chillingly cool but the tactic of wasting the, previously mentioned, unbeatable fighting force of the known world in an open field, was daft.
2. Death of the Night King by flying teenager seemed slightly unrealistic. I think Arya is utterly awesome but it just seemed a bit too random how it happened.
3. I never thought I'd accuse GoT of this but the main character casualty count actually seemed unrealistically low given the circumstances!

Still, what a show, can't wait for the rest.

Re:3 ...I thought the same.

As for Arya I've been waiting through the books and the series for the reappearance of Syrio Forell. Seems he's either deemed unnecessary to the main plot or actually was killed way back.

Well there was that disappointingly girly scream he did (or I presume he did!) while Arya was fleeing.

I had a theory from the point where the Hound was teaching Arya the benefits of brute strength fighting that she'd evolve into the greatest fighter in Westeros. At the time she'd been trained by the first sword of Bravos and the crazily good Brotherhood archer. I thought she'd eventually get schooled in every fighting style and become the ultimate badass. But I think GoT is a bit too realistic to allow a 5 foot, 8 stone uber-warrior.

Got to say I've loved the Game of Thrones series but last nights was just so much rubbish. No doubt spurred on by Hollywood fast buck ethics many loose ends are being ignored whilst the series ending is being played out in an almighty rush.
Fearsome though Dragons are they are being well overdone! Or at least everything they target for a 'flame on' is! They'd need mid air refuelling from a fleet of napalm carrying aircraft to produce as much devastation as the Deanary's last remaining one did last night. Ridiculous that one little animal can cause as much devastation in a few minutes as Bomber Command carried out on Dresden in the entire WW2.
Despite being Cersei the Cruel all the series, plus being Arya's No 2 target she was rewarded with a 'nice' death (I think) in the arms of her beloved Jaime. Dunno about anyone else but I was expecting Arya to appear in front of Cersei disguised as Catelyn Stark before sticking her in the throat with Needle. Maybe even be re-united with her Dire wolf Nymeria before setting said Wolf on Cersei and seeing her throat ripped out! Come to think about it those dire wolfs have all shrunk! From being the size of donkey's they are now back to the proportions of your average Alsation!

Three cheers for JK Rowling for refusing to allow the film makers to turn Harry Potter into some all american kid. braces and all from Boston by insisting that Harry Potter was English, Hogwarts was in the UK and the Hogwarts Express ran out of Kings Cross and not New York's Grand Central.

Agree on the rush of course as I've said.

Yeah the dragons' ability seems to vary wildly depending on how they want to fit them into the plot. Dany's first (and biggest) dragon was pretty badass. Burnt down the Mereen fleet, got Dany to safety in the Colosseum, acquitted itself fairly well before the Night King took it down. But then the second is easily pot-shotted from a disadvantageous lower ground whilst mucking around oblivious. And then the third annihilates everything in its path against a huge navy and well defended city.

Half agree on the Cersei death. I don't think its in keeping with previous Game of Thrones seasons that characters get what they deserve according to their morality. So a cruel death for Cersei wasn't necessarily required. But its all part of the rush job for me. 7 episodes, approx 70 hours of build up, then the most intimidating enemy (the whitewalkers) are dispatched in 1 episode and most of the major characters dye in 1 episode.

Hope they make it up to us with a good last one.

Just watched the 3rd and final episode of 63 up . I remember watching 7 up and 14 up at school , when I was about 16 , as part of a general studies lesson .

Watched them all since then . This last series is just as interesting but at the same time very poignant as grandchildren, ill health and sadly death become part of the story .

“ Give me a child until he is 7 and I will give you the man “

It's just barbed comedy as far as I am concerned. Quite funny too.
Anybody who might feel encouraged to replace milk shake with battery acid can only be part of that stupid care in the community malarky.

Section the half wits then. I'm fed up of this pathetic humourless, nanny state, overly PC institution that we have descended in to.

Can't decide where I stand on "hate" speech these days. From what I can tell it was brought in so the police could do something about that Muslim group who went to Remembrance Day parades and burnt poppies. At the time I thought good.

Since then it's been used for a decade as a giant stick the left use to beat the right into submission. But now they're slipping up and falling foul of their own ultra-strict standards. Either disband hate speech laws tomorrow or haul Brand over the coals. Nothing else is consistent at this point.
