I've said before that religion does far more harm than good. Difference is though it's a very complex issue and can you really see religion being abolished? There's freedom of speech in this country and I'm talking about Christians, Jews, etc not just Muslims. History is full of scapegoats, persecution, etc and of course you could say groups like ISIS are the worst in that regard. Seeing everyone who does not agree with their beliefs as infidels, etc. It's tough to find a balance without denouncing those who practice a peaceful version of Islam and saying they aren't doing enough to combat extremist beliefs. Personally I'm glad it's not my decision on ways to deal with it. Perhaps mosque leaders should be extremely vocal and attempt to engage with everyone and anyone who wants to meet with them. It's tougher with entire Muslim communities and lack of integration, etc isn't just on their side.
The monarchy is a far more black and white issue for me. I'm not talking about Worldwide (all monarchies could be seen as outdated but some of them actually run their countries) but in this country it's outdated. How do they promote a forward thinking nation with this backwards mentality? They wouldn't have to lose their private assets.
Public servant? What nonsense it's the other way round do servants usually have people bowing to them? Bloody hell who will open another fete or cut a ribbon when she retires or dies.
