imo it was a misguided sense of loyalty by Jack Walker amo. Kenny knew that what we'd done was overturn the odds but that we needed to use that as a springboard and not rest on our laurels. Jack didn't see it that way.
If I rem amo I'll try and find out tomorrow at the match as I have a rare invitation to watch from the Directors Box.
Asked the question and the word is that we were actually approached by some associate of Jerome Anderson's re: the availability of ZZ and Dugarry. It was actually KMD who turned away initially from showing any further interest by saying that it was a hoax or a diversary tactic as in his opinion there was no way that those two would come to BRFC.

What rubbish. Seriously you seem to take pleasure out of belittling Jack Walker and this football club. If its who I think you may have asked he's a damn liar. You're like someone who does everything they can to discourage their kids and suck any ambition out of them until they grow up cold and resentful for it. Sadly that's what I believe the Blackburn public in general are prone to doing. Maybe its because of their own feelings of inadequacy and a way of making themselves feel better who knows?

Jack may have thought the squad was good enough and as people have said he didn't have a crystal ball with Zidane. I wish people would quote "think BIG" more than something he may not have even said. I blame Harford because if he had made a bigger deal of strengthening the squad then Jack would have supported him. The signing Dalglish was so petty about was Geoff Thomas who did sod all afterwards anyway. Jack didn't like signing players of that age (Gale was a considerably older player but a free transfer as cover mainly) and I fully agree with that policy.

Dugarry said around that time he did speak to Rovers (so hardly sounds like someone who would have been insulted even at the prospect and later in his career he signed for those footballing no marks Birmingham City) but preferred to go to Milan. That person you may have spoken to yesterday said that Dugarry preferred the Italian continental lifestyle as it was more similar to France. Also I will state myself that Milan were a European colossus and Serie A was the best league in the world at that time. He would have turned United down for the same reasons I bet.

Also the person you may have spoken to yesterday said in reference to Venkys that "in truth it is no different to when Jack was here". So anyone who can come up with such complete nonsense in front of several fans (and being recorded as well) can certainly come up with nonsense to a single individual like yourself.

Also the club did sign players that season anyway. Granted McKinlay, Bohinen, Flitcroft (though should be absolutely no doubt he was worth the money overall given he was here almost 10 years and achieved good things) were not title winner level but that's Harford's fault. What may have also hurt was a wage policy Rovers had but at that time United did too. That was the case until they gave in to that cretin Keane.

Ok Vinjay. Have it your way if you must. You know best I guess but you ought to learn not to take pot shots at the messenger.

BUT.... I'd have thought my post absolved Jack Walker from any blame so why do you say that I am belittling him?

Big Sam not making himself popular in the merseyside derby. Current possession stats 80:20 with 11 shots from Liverpool and 0 from Everton!:D
He's obviously been trying to dig in and grit it out but Salah's just made it 1-0 with an apparent touch of genius which no pre match planning can ever compensate for. I guess the tactics will have to be changed for the 2nd half.

Lpool 1- Everton 1 Klopps been 'Sammed'!

Usual Sam methadology and pragmatism. When against a team with far far greater fire power don't dance to their tune by attempting to play in areas that suits them. Simples.
Everton fans will be bitter sweet. Like WHU, NUFC and a number of his previous clubs they stupidly think they have a footballing 'school of science' tradition and don't like to see negative stuff. However 3 wins and a draw since his appointment, 7 Prem points out of 9 including a draw at Anfield, a top half position and previous thoughts of relegation receding by the week he will have the Board purring in satisfaction. Twas ever thus I suppose.

Classic big Sam away match no semblance whatsoever of attacking intent from the first min just invite pressure onto yourselves and defend with your lives then pray for a set piece or pen from a rare hoof upfield that a player actually gets on the end of.

Awful but effective when the players buy into it and carry it out to plan. Worked a treat today but on another day they'd have been 4 down by half time.

Pragmatic genius yes but also a lucky fooker at times

Exactly, woeful from Everton really but in the end a point. Classic Sam, boardroom loving it.

Liverpool's squad will likely be worth 4x the value of Everton's. They've recently hit top form and have been scoring for fun. Only a fool would try to out football them on their own midden.

They also have a poor defence and left most of their big guns on the bench.

Watched both games on Sunday . As Drog says , Klopp was "Sammed" and by the sound of it , if his interview was anything to go by, he couldn't cope with it . I love it when Big Sam manages to get under the skin of these flash Harry foreign managers .

Then watched the United v City game. Mourinho tried to " Sam " City but there's only one Big Sam ;)

Both Mourinho ( and his team were at home !) and Big Sam approached the challenge of playing better teams , with better and more skillful players in a similar way . You have to be pragmatic when you're up against it . Both games followed a similar pattern. Big Sam got lucky ? What's that old saying , the harder you work the luckier you get ?

Talking of pragmatism Big Sean's lot won again. I wonder if their fans will start complaining about his style and method . If they're ever tempted to , I'd advise them to have a quick look west down the M65 and ponder on our predicament .

Similar to the one James Tarkowski gave away for a shove on Aaron Ramsey. Dyche was raging about the Ref's decision to award a penalty but I'm pretty sure when he cooled down his anger on Monday morning would have been directed at Tarkowski. If he hadn't shoved Ramsey in the back which he certainly did, there would have been no decision for the ref to make.

Those Klopp interviews are hilarious! He's been well and truly Sammed and he couldn't handle it. He made a right dick of himself.
As for Allardichee he'd have just loved sticking it up yet another foreign Big time Charlie against all the odds.

Well after Herr Klopp , now Senor Benetiz has been " Sammed" . I'm sure he's looking forward to pitting his wits against Signore Conte on the 23rd , after his team have dispatched Swansea .

In an interview after the match last night, he said he's even surprised himself how quickly he's turned around Everton . Twas ever thus Big Sam, twas ever thus :)

I must say I'm enjoying it all. It's well funny isn't it OOT? :grinning:

However I've made my opinion of Benitez plain many times..... he's massively overrated and nowt but a cheque book manager. He's whingeing that NUFC must spend more money despite blowing 40m last year. As far as I'm concerned Newcastle's turnaround could be achieved for much less. In fact about 15m...... a 3 contract contract waived under Dyche's nose rising to whatever it takes.

Another good result for Big Sam and Everton . Football is a simple game .

"From a tactical point of view, I've simplified the game. And I'm man-managing the players. I brought some experienced and talented staff with me, along with the rest of the staff - I want everyone to get better. To turn around so quickly is great credit to everyone. Not just me "

Signore Conte next , should be interesting . What's the betting Everton will finish above Big Sam's apprentice Big Sean's team , come the end of the season ?
