If true it goes a long way to explaining his lack of development these past couple of years. I thought 18 months back that he could have been a big player for us in League 1. Silly lad / poor lad. I've no evidence but I'd imagine that the club must have tried hard for him before they finally cut the chord and gave up.

Ok ok we all wanted the big name striker to come in and put 26 goals past the other teams in the league, we wanted a player with flair for us to put two fingers up at the likes of pne and Wigan but stop............ We got in chapman, Annesley and Brereton ( hmm ) but we also got one or two out the door and off the wage bill, we were in league 1 last year and are at the min only 3 points of the pls offs...... Now if I'm not wrong we also still have dack in attack and with the talk of 30 to 40 million to prem clubs I think on the whole its been a very sensible window as if we had got the big name and not made the play offs we could have been in big trouble. In tony we trust, we are on our way back

Hmmm 4 days ago Assombalonga was reported as being a target for the Rovers. Today as we were putting on the misfiring Nuttall and Brereton at 2-1 up only to concede 4 goals he came on as sub for Boro at 1-2 down and scored two goals to nab all 3 points. Sometimes football's isn't it?

When does the loan window close?

It closed on Jan 31st.
No extension like in the summer.
Can only bring in players with no clubs now.
