There's plenty you can see in New York without spending a fortune.
Walk round Central Park for a few hours - it's free.
It costs peanuts to go out on the ferry to the statue of liberty
About 50 bucks to go to the top of the Empire State building
Similarly, about $70 for a 2-day hop-on, hop-off tourist bus ticket that takes you to most places of interest, complete with an on-board tour guide.
Costs nothing to walk round Times Square or walk up 5th Avenue and go into the fancy shops. Visit Wall Street or Grand Central (wonderful architecture). All these cost nowt.
Eating and drinking, however, can cost a lot although it doesn't have to. Apart from the different approach to tipping, I don't think it's much different to London prices anyway.
Definitely somewhere to go if you get chance.

Hey BB guess where I am...Brilliant, I am glad you like it and have equally good taste. My favourite gallery (The Morgan, after JP Morgan) is only 5 minutes away on Madison Ave.
I must admit to hammering the free wine and cheese, especially the wine.

I have been a few times to do diving off live aboard boats. Some friends absolutely love the place but personally I would not go anywhere near the country any more. It is the same with Morocco - used to do treks in the Atlas Mountains until a coffee bar I went to in Marrakesh was bombed a few days after I visited, the bomb was below the table I sat at.

Holy shit....that is pretty scary omg...now I'm kinda nervous..im goin hurghada so hopefully will b safe there!! The hotel looks and sounds good..and has own private beach..i can only try..if I don't like i dont go again ..thanks 4 scaring the shit outta me lol

Me neither Abbey. One week in Sharm El Sheik was more than enough for me. It's a shithole. The only good thing about it is for scuba divers as it's the closest coral reef to these shores. Anyway after recent terrorist incidents in holiday destinations I made the peresonal decision that I will never again visit an islamic country. They don't like us much so I don't want to fund them much either.
No idea. We didn't but we had to pay a tenner each CASH ONLY! to get into Turkey. How much of that will go in some corrupt officials back sack? Turkey's been off the list ever since.
Apart obviously from Tugay Turkey's main contribution to this nation for years was as the main supply of heroin, smuggled in in large shipments. I think they are still at it but now the major supply of heroin unsurprisingly comes from Pakistan. The nature of the carrier varying as most comes in now in small units within the bodies of 'mules'.
