But then, it was libtard fascists that came out with the slur, so I checked the definition in the NewWorldSpeak Dictionary and the short version stated:

Husky, I'm certainly not racist, not "right wing" by any stretch, but the posters here are, after all, just rovers supporters, but without any agendas on the side.
I don't agree with everything that's posted, but enjoy most of the stuff that's put up.
Not to single him out particularly, but BB's previews are legendary.
Other things of note, the cricket thread (always aimed at me, no only kidding), the xxxx thread (golf to those that play).

Welcome Husky . The site isn’t racist , if it was I wouldn’t post . Just a decent set of blokes. As Dave says , BB’s game previews are legendary and probably only matched by Drog’s in-depth and incisive reviews .

You should also enjoy WB’s Prediction League - I do !

Just a word of warning though . If you’re posting in the cricket thread don’t mention the ‘ sandpaper ‘. I did once but I think I got away with it !

tbh on the subject of racism. The 'R' word is hurled all to often at others 'over the road' (and in many other environments too) by ignorant and poorly educated people. I hated the posse mentality over there. When Fawlty Towers had an episode removed because of racism towards the Germans I despaired for the nation. How on earth can one predominantly white caucasian nation be accused of being racist in poking fun at another predominantly white caucasian nation? The other recent issues too with ant and dec and Little Britain was pathetic. All imo were shamefully running scared for their lucrative careers even though it was all based on intended humour. Little Britain especially has succeeded because it so near to the knuckle on very many issues. Instill PC censorship and Walliams and Lucas wouldn't have a show!

Having said that as far as I am concerned racism is not a 'black and white' issue (if you'll forgive the pun) as so many of the less cerebral would have. I personally believe everyone carries prejudice of one sort or another (note I was careful to use the word prejudice rather than racism) but whether that is at a level of 1 out of 10 or 9 out of ten is always open to interpretation. I might be wrong but if most people were to provide a check list of 10 preferred qualities for their future son / daughter in law I'd imagine same skin colour would be overwhelmingly given as the same as their parents. Same religion too would be a biggy as most grandparents I'm sure would prefer the grandkids to share their own religion. Politics next etc etc.
Point being that people have a right to their opinion so long as it is given in a reasonable way. Free speech can be hidden behind all too frequently but subversion of free speech is the way of most extremist led organisations and nations.

Drog I suspect the Fawlty Towers episode was initially dropped due to the scene with the major discussing Indians and West Indians, not the German scene. The humour comes from the outdated view of the character playing the major but they couldn’t get away with it today!

The Major ( my favourite character in FT ) was discussing cricket and used some very offensive language to describe West Indians and Indians . However like the rest of history it has to be taken in context .

Arguably the real piss take is out of a batty old white man who has ridiculously outdated views . In the same way that Love Thy Neighbour was poking fun at the slovenly white racist who was racially abusing the dignified and articulate black guy .

This type of comedy is now most definitely not acceptable and that shows how much progress we’ve made . However we can’t rewrite history or cleanse the past of everything that offends .

Such programmes from a different era in TV history should start with a warning that they contain racist / sexist material that could offend , similar to warnings on current TV programmes that they contain gratuitous violence , adult themes , bad language etc .

Then if you object or are offended , just don’t watch it .
