Yeah think you're missing there's most likely some Everton fans who booed Rooney and meant it. I feel sorry for them its called empathy something that Rovers fans have demanded from others over past few years. OK some of them are happy about his return (including many of those who booed him ) but there's a decent percentage that aren't. Why piss off a section of your fanbase when there's other alternatives out there?

That's before you even get into performance predictions or how it makes Everton look compared to Liverpool. Everton fans are being laughed at by Liverpool right now and that will happen in the workplace this upcoming week and in local schools.

All this before you even get into the Lukaku matter as well.

The few Everton fans I know are delighted. Don't see the issue myself. He went to Utd to win trophies and earn squillions of pounds, neither he could achieve at Everton at that time and he's been proved right to move. Clearly he wasn't happy at Utd, he's never hidden his love for Everton so makes perfect sense to me. Meanwhile, who have we been linked with recently?

Is there a cure for solipsism? I couldn't have made the issues any plainer.

Petsonally I know Everton fans who are more than happy with the £100 million spent so far plus Rooney.

I should add that I could not care less.

I rem when Everton were the millionaire club back in the 60's when they were being bankrolled by the Moore's family who had made a fortune from Littlewoods Pools. Scouse gits took Fred Pick and Keith Newton of us. They could have bought and sold Man Utd back then just like Nixon joked that Jack Walker could have bought Spurs not just Linekar when they knocked us back and the entire nation were taking the piss.

Nixon said that quote came directly from Bill Fox.

I can. I did say WBA and Burnley were interested a few months back.

Thought Moore's owned Liverpool?

John Moores owned Everton but David Moores (his nephew) was involved with Liverpool. Still holds a position actually that of Life President.

According to this J Moores never put a penny into Everton aside from his share purchase.

Don't know about Liverpool but its a quite meaningless position at Ewood. The President is former board member Keith Lee (who attends every game including non first team from what I've heard) and prior to that it was William Bancroft. Speaking of that I wondered if the pompous clown at Northcote Craig Bancroft was related. Apparently he's his nephew. Apparently W Bancroft was stripped of his presidency position about 12/13 years ago after angering someone at the club? Wonder what Matthewman thought about that?

Jack of course had the title of Senior Vice President for some reason. Wasn't officially on the board (though we know effectively he WAS the board)

Maybe but in many ways where football is concerned I feel complete apathy. I've also self diagnosed myself with the symptoms of anhedonia. So really perhaps its good to cling on to some emotion rather than numbness. Though really I've got VERY strong cases to hate all of those examples! To be fair I have made some progress with my anger problems and am less unpleasant to people on forums like this than in the past. I genuinely have made some peace with people I've argued with before (Yoda and Abbey for instance though the latter has still not unblocked me on twitter lol) though there are a few like Lingard who will never be crossed off my contempt list.

You forgot the trustees.
