Bloody ridiculous. Chelsea should be severely reprimanded.... and fined! Once this sort of stuff is started it becomes an epidemic. I can only assume this will replace a meaningless Testimonial match designed to make the cockanees cough up even more of their hard earned.
What will happen when for example the next Gerrard or Giggs play their final match and the result is important? They can't piss about playing an old war horse through sentimentality can they? Does that mean they would be held in any less esteem? Of course not.

They have just been relegated. Should think about their own fans first and foremost not being Chelsea's whore.
Not to mention the thrashing they got. Even Rovers under Kean managed not to get hammered there on final day in 2012.

About time they changed the name of the Champions League to the "anybody finishing near the top league".
How long is it since only the Champions qualified?
And it was a knock out competition. The CL format is just designed to get the big clubs through to the final stages.
