Numerous unnecessary deaths as a result of a crush caused by a aggressive and lawless Liverpool mob fuelled up by drink and goodness only knows what else BEFORE a match! :poop:
Ring any bells with anyone?
Might be something for everyone to to ponder when Van Dijke eventually lifts aloft the Premier League trophy.

God forbid Ewood Park doesn’t suffer from poor maintenance and has a catastrophe as above. I’d prefer a spruce up rather than a new signing, I’m not there on game days but remember when the venkies took over news reports implored about our dilapidated stadium. Hope things have improved.

I feel young, I am young (33) but every week a superstar of a generation passes away (music/football/tv etc). Did I not realise this when I was 12 or has the media made bigger stars?

Princess Di’s death was the only notable one whilst I was younger to stick in my head.

Ewood Park needs a lick .or two of paint. Last week even in the Directors box I noticed the legs on the very plush seats were badly rusting

Drog if you think our stadium needs a lick of paint, You should see Boltons. That is getting scruffy. I know Rochdale fans said the concourses stunk when they played there quite a few weeks ago.

Bloody hell! He seemed indestructible 50 years ago (to everyone bar Franny Lee that is)! Part of one of the best teams of home produced professionals that these shores have ever produced.

RIP Norman. Before my time. My Dad told me about him in the great Leeds team. Said about them showboating in a particular game that they were winning easily. One of the best Club teams ever they say.

Bite yer Legs poleaxes Howard Kendall. What struck me was not the ferocity of the challenge, but Kenneth Wolstenholm's surmising that Kendall might make a reappearance!

I saw that as a full blooded 'hard' challenge rather than a dirty one. Couldn't see much but I think Kendall's head came off worse to Hunter's hip (or elbow).

I suspect the game in question was against Southampton, 7-0 I seem to remember.

There you go, the showboating was near the end of the game. Although father was taking me to Ewood as a young lad I had a soft spot for Leeds, particularly as one of their players had my surname.

Now i have worked you out more ODB. In the 90s we were going head to head with United. And it looks like Leeds are your 2nd team if you like. Leeds hate United. No wonder you said you favour City out of the Manc Clubs. I will have mentioned it in the Championship discussions i have always had a bit of a thing for Huddersfield. So no harm.

LUFC were my favourite team in the late 60's early 80's. However if they were drawn against the Rovers in a cup competition though there would have been no question where my loyalty lay.
