I wonder if anyone in the Town Hall would care to do a few excel 'sorts' of those establishments ..... just for guidance of course, so that the good citizens of Blackburn can form an impression of where and where not to eat. I'd suggest that it would be in the best interests of the general public. Pretty sure it would also become largely self policing.;)

White Swan at Fence today. Otherwise known by the locals as the Mucky Duck. Always highly recommended, in fact I haven't spoken to anyone who has been disappointed here. I'll report back.

Houghton arms was really nice ..but waited over an hour for food
Hoghton not Hougton....my apologies for being pedantic.

You must try the Nabs Head at Samlesbury (in the old village) which is Home cooked English food and decent pizzas as well.

If you go tell the landlord Michael that “Mike recommended a visit”. Michael is a big Rovers fan as well.

I hope you didn't pay too much for your meal. It could start a diatribe.:p

N0pe... £22 per head for two courses including an option of sirloin steak! Really excellent food which sets a standard that few can match at the price. Wine was really agreeable at just £20 too.
