Not like you to fish for a bite gord pah...punk is not a patch on metal and the group's I like range from older than me but also many many new metal bands who are young .
F- the lack of effort in master baiting for a hook was a very poor effort .Must try harder.

When you was 15/16 how many bands/artists did you like Ike who were at the same age as you . 15-16 singers will be 20 years old at least .

I guess the 60's bands were mostly about 10 years older than me as my musical awareness developed but then I'm older than you. Must say I liked lots of punk and new wave stuff from bands who were my age or younger late 70's and early 80's. Nowadays I guess most musicians are younger than me.
One thing that I do know is that the old bands from my early era were musicians first and foremost. Technical musical wizadry now means now that lot's of stars since the mid 90's owe their careers to image makers. Pretty people who can sing and dance a bit with musical skills not being a major requirement..
