Hopefully the game will have given other teams in the group some hope, and a bit of fear against the Aussies, assuming they don't fall over in every tackle.
The Aussies, as a team, are probably Championship at best, but they have heart and big engines.

Usual Brazil stuff. Overload of attacking quality but can't defend balls in the air. Teams like that with soft centres are precisely why I'd have liked the option of Andy Carroll on the bench. He'd have had em crapping themselves.

Strange decision on the Swiss ‘ goal ‘ Definite push . What’s the point in VAR if a goal like that is given .

Strange one isn't it but imo football is a physical game and a contact sport and defenders need to be more robust. It was a push but not a hard one. I'm glad that the goal was allowed as I am that Diego Costa scored after catching that Portugese CH with his arm. The Portugese chap wasn't hurt and to go down so easily in order to blag a free kick when last man is just pathetic. I fear that VAR employed to the letter of the law could easily ruin the spectacle of the game.

The Swiss goal came from a foul. Worse still it was a sneaky push in the back, cheating. Costa fouled Pepe. The fact that Costa then through excellent and robust striker play scored a goal doesn't excuse the earlier foul. VAR is pointless if those sorts of events are allowed.

VAR relies on final opinion and the worry is who actually has that call.

If England lose today due to a dodgy VAR or Ref call there will be a wailing that even French divers could not match.
