Diouff was a top player . I enjoyed his time at the Rovers and he seemed to have real pride in wearing the famous blue and white halves . Just for that , he’ll do for me

I wasn’t aware of his charity work in Senegal. Amazing generosity. If that’s true then perhaps Marcus Rashford should follow suit and donate a large proportion of his wages to all those ‘starving’ children in England he keeps banging on about .

Sometimes these overseas players struggle to come to terms with our culture don't they? Suarez in particular got a reputation for biting plus he got in all sorts of bother for calling Evra a 'negro' despite the fact that he is Uruguayan and his first language is Spanish. Doesn't suit our sensibilities (or rather the FA's and the BeeBs) but seemingly not really an issue in South America.

Nor in any of the countries I've worked and lived in, which covers most of the Middle East and a lot of Asia.

I'd hate to think that might happen in this country when another of our 66 heroes dies like Bobby Charlton / Geoff Hurst etc. However with a nation stuffed full of foreigners, gyppo's, druggies and assorted n'er do wells I'm not ruling it out.

Apparently, he subsequently married Mary Brown and they stayed together until he died.

Remember him playing in the City side that beat Rovers 4-1 at Ewood in the Cup in ‘69 . A marvellous team and a tremendous player
