I've got hearing damage in my left ear from my kamikaze approach to wearing ear plugs in a few factory temp jobs when i was younger. And even I think that 90% of live music is absurdly loud.

Up until the last couple of years , the soul nights at KGH ( 5 a year ) were a jewel in what was/ is a dead nightlife in Blackburn. Around 1500 attended and sometimes the only way you could get a ticket on the night was through one of the touts outside . Three rooms of Northern Soul , R & B and Jazz Funk . Cracking nights that are now sadly on the wane

OOT, back when I lived in Blackburn (1968ish) there used to be a Jazz festival at Clitheroe Castle.
Fantastic weekend
